Hello my name is Yona Jervis. I’m a Luxembourg-based sound engineer and technical specialist working across live audio, Linux systems, and production technology. I currently work as the touring sound engineer for The Thonnes, and I also take on freelance work involving event tech, infrastructure, and media systems.
My interest in technical work started young, through curiosity and a lot of trial and error. I was always the kind of person who wanted to understand how things worked, fix them when they broke, and keep digging until I had figured them out properly. Over time, that turned into real experience with computers, servers, production gear, and live sound.
What I enjoy most is the combination of technical depth and practical results. I like building systems that work well, solving problems calmly, and helping create setups that people can rely on. That applies just as much to a live audio environment as it does to a Linux server or a piece of production equipment.
I have extensive experience mixing live bands across a range of genres, including Rock, Pop, Soul, and Hip Hop, as well as mixing their recordings. I also have some hands-on experience with system setup and tuning. While I originally got started producing electronic music in a DAW, I’ve always been more drawn to the technical side of live events and mixing. Over the past years, I’ve been involved in more than seven outside broadcasts for Radio ARA. I
handled the live mixing during the broadcasts and worked closely with the hosts to ensure smooth and professional shows.
I also recorded and mixed all the artists featured in the Radio ARA Live Studio Gigs, which are used to promote the “Lux Mini Fest” event.
